Staffing Process Detail
From the time you first discover WellPoint, to the moment you accept our offer to

and succeed. Here's how it works:
There are a variety of ways you may have first heard of WellPoint as a company or
potential employer, including:
- Advertising (PDF)
- Job fairs
- E-mail notifications via our Career E-Newsletter

Once on the Careers section of the WellPoint web site, you can quickly and easily:
- Match your skills & interests to available positions
- View current job openings; sorting or selecting by job category or location
Once you have identified a position of interest, applying is as easy as:
View your submissions to track the status of your applications, view email messages that have been sent to you and view/edit your submissions. Simply click on “View My Submissions” to see a complete list of positions you’ve applied for and your current status within each. During the timeframe in which the position is still posted, you will also be presented with the option of editing your submitted information right up until the posting closes. You can also “Access My Profile” to view/edit your general profile information at any time.
- Clicking the "Apply for this position" link on your chosen position.
- Clicking on the “New User” link to easily create a User Name and Password.
- Answering a series of profile questions.
- Submitting your resume either by: saving it as an attachment, copying and pasting it into the “Plain Text Resume” box or typing it directly into the Plain Text Resume box.
- Answering prescreening questions, which will provide information about your qualifications for the job opening.
- Providing diversity information, if you would like.
- Signing up for email notifications to be sent to you whenever a new position matching your profile is posted, if you would like.
- Receiving a confirmation via email of your application within 24 hours.

All applicants who apply for available positions will be contacted by WellPoint
in one or more of the following ways:
- Testing - applicants may receive an e-mail invitation to take an assessment. The e-mail will include the link and instructions for taking the assessment.
- Phone Screening - applicants may be contacted by a member of our Talent Acquisition team for a screening interview to be conducted via phone.
- Regrets E-Mail - when the initial screening criteria is not met, applicants will be notified and thanked for their interest via e-mail.
Upon successful completion of the screening process, candidates will:
- Be contacted to schedule an interview.
- Receive an invitation via e-mail link to complete a WellPoint Employment Application.
Following the interview process, candidates will either receive:
- A phone call from a Talent Acquisition team member for successful candidates reviewing the total offer package (including pay, applicable bonuses, relocation, benefits, start date and next steps). Successful candidates who accept the job offer will receive an offer confirmation letter and a link to the new hire on-boarding portal which will be sent to the new hire's email address. The on-boarding portal provides links to important company information and forms required to be completed for the first day of work.
- A letter of regret via e-mail for candidates not selected for employment
Upon confirmation of employment, the new associate's hiring manager will:
- Welcome you to WellPoint via a personal phone call
- Secure appropriate resources (office, phone, computer, etc.) prior to your start date
- Coordinate with your department to ensure you experience a smooth on-boarding and orientation process
