HealthCore, Inc., a health services research firm headquartered in Wilmington, DE is seeking a Research Manager for Pharmaceutical, Biotech and Medical Devices to join our dynamic company. Founded in 1996, and now an independently-operating subsidiary of WellPoint, Inc., HealthCore provides the health care system, biopharmaceutical industry, academia, as well as federal and state governments with "real-world" data to improve the quality, safety, and affordability of healthcare. HealthCore’s projects range from retrospective to large-scale, prospective studies in the areas of drug, vaccine, and medical device safety surveillance, risk management, pharmacoepidemiology, health outcomes, pharmacoeconomics, and comparative effectiveness research.

We are currently seeking an experienced Research Manager to join our industry sponsored research team in our Andover, MA, or Alexandria, VA or Wilmington, DE office. This person will need to collaborate with team and project leads, programmers, biostatisticians, clinicians, and other service centers to conduct outcomes research projects.

Responsibilities include:
Performing prospective and retrospective health economic/outcomes research activities under the direction of senior staff, which will include performing all of the following activities:
Developing proposals and contributing to designing of the research studies to fulfill study objectives
Implementing study design and statistical analyses plans utilizing industry standard health economic and statistical techniques
Conducting review of administrative claims data and statistical output to ensure accuracy of results
Summarizing key findings and generating value messages for incorporation into project deliverables, publications and presentations
Preparing study reports and manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals
Collaborating with analysts, clinicians, medical writers, subcontractors and other support staff to bring high quality proposals, reports, deliverables, presentations, and other milestones to fruition
Performing project management, with a focus on timeline and budget adherence

Job Qualifications


This position requires an M.S., Ph.D., Pharm.D., M.D., or relevant advanced education and/or experience in health service research, epidemiology, health policy, economics or related field. 3-4 years of relevant experience in conducting research using health plan administrative databases (pharmacy and medical claims) is required. Strong study design and analytical skills are required. Proficiency with one or more statistical applications (SAS, Stata) or clinical background is a plus .The successful candidate will have excellent oral, written, and presentation skills. Managed care, PBM, pharmaceutical, or related experience is a plus. Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment is required.
